ANONYMOUS CALL REJECTION
Anonymous Call Rejection allows you to reject calls from parties who have activated privacy feature to prevent their phone number from being recognized by your phone.
To Activate Service:
• Press *77
To Deactivate Service:
• Press *87
CALL FORWARDING
Call Forwarding allows you to redirect all calls to another telephone number so your calls can follow you wherever you go. It reduces missed calls, eliminates waiting for important calls and adds an extra measure of security while you’re away from home.
To Activate Service:
• Press *72, wait for 3 beeps and a steady dial tone.
• Dial the number to shich you wish to forward your calls.
• Press #, wait for ringing and answer. Advise part of call forwarding.
• If a call is not answered, repeat steps 1-3, wait for 3 beeps and a dial tone, then hang up.
To Deactivate Service:
• Press *73, listen for 3 beeps, then hang up.
PREFERRED CALL FORWARDING
Preferred Call Forwarding allows only certain calls to be forwarded to you. You choose who you want to receive calls from. You won’t miss any important calls but you won’t be bothered by calls you don’t want.
To Activate Service:
• Press *63
• The voice instructions will guide you through the steps of how to turn the option on or off and how to make changes to your Preferred Call Forwarding list.
REMOTE ACTIVATE CALL FORWARDING
This feature allows you to activate your Call Forwarding feature even after you’ve already left home. Activate Call Forwarding from any touch-tone phone. You must have call forwarding on line also for this to work.
To Activate Service:
• Please call customer support for guidance on activating the service in your particular area.
CALLER ID DELUXE
Caller ID informs you of the name and phone number of a person calling you. Once you see the name of the person calling you, you can decide whether or not to take the call. You will need a Caller Display Device for this service.
CALL SCREENING
Call Screening prevents certain callers from calling you. You choose who you want to receive calls from. When callers from phone numbers on your Call Screening list attempt to call you, they will receive a message indicating that you are not currently accepting calls from their number.
To Activate Service:
• Press *60
• The voice instructions will guide you through the steps of how to turn Call Screening on or off.
PERSONAL RINGING
Personal Ringing allows you to have up to three telephone numbers with unique ringing patterns (and unique Call Waiting tones if you have the Call Waiting feature). You’ll be able to determine for whom a call is intended (children’s number or parent’s number) or the type of call (business or personal). Personal Ringing provides many of the advantages of additional lines, but at a fraction of the cost.
To Activate Service:
• Contact ETC for more information about service.
PRIORITY RING
This feature alerts you to important calls by giving them a distinctive ringing pattern.
To Activate Service:
• Press *61
• The voice instructions will guide you through the steps.
When Activated:
• You will hear a short-lont-short ringing pattern when calling from any number on your list.
• You will hear a normal ring pattern when called from a number not on your list.
VOICE MAIL SET UP
The first time you log in, set up your mailbox. To set up your mailbox you need to complete 2 steps:
♦ Enter a new password
♦ Record a personal greeting

Enter your mailbox number (telephone number) followed by #. Enter 9999 (temporary password). Continue on to Password and Recording Your Personal Greeting Sections.
Password
Your password protects your mailbox from unauthorized use. Once your password is changed from the default password, no one can log into your mailbox except you. Passwords should be four to seven digits in length. Use a number combination you are familiar with, but would be hard for someone else to figure out.♦ Press 4 for the Personal Options Menu
♦ Press 4 for the Personal Preferences
♦ Press 1 to change password
♦ Enter a 4-7 digit log in password followed by #
♦ Press ** to return to the Main Menu
Recording Your Personal Greeting
Your personal greeting plays when a caller reaches your mailbox. Your greeting should contain your name and any message you wish to leave for your callers. Sample Greeting: “Hello, this is Bill Jones. I’m sorry I missed your call. Please leave a message at the tone and I will call you back as soon as possible.”
Log into your Mailbox:♦ Press 3 for the Greeting Menu
♦ Press 2 to record your greeting
♦ Press # when finished recording
After recording your greeting, you can:♦ Press 1 to play your greeting

GROUP LISTS FOR NOTIFICATION PHONE CALLS

A group list is a list of mailbox numbers or telephone numbers that is created once and assigned a list number and a recorded name. Once your lists are created, you need only to enter the list number and your message will be delivered to everyone on the list. Your mailbox may contain a maximum of 15 different lists with up to 60 numbers per list.
1. CREATING GROUP LISTS
– Log into your mailbox
– Press 4 for the personal options menu
– Press 2 for group list options
– Press 2 to create a group list
– Enter a one or two digit group list number followed by #
– Record a name for the list followed by #
– Enter any or all of the following types of destination addresses (press # after each entry is made):♦ Mailbox number
♦ Telephone number (if long distance do not add a “1”)
(if 706 area code you do not have to enter “706”)
(all other area codes have to be entered) ♦ another group list number
– Press # to save all entries added to the list.
2. DELETING A GROUP LIST
– Log into your mailbox.
– Press 4 for the personal options menu
– Press 2 for group list options
– Press 3 to delete a group list
– Enter the one or two digit group list number that you wish to delete.
3. REVIEWING YOUR GROUP LIST DIRECTORY
– Log into your mailbox

– Press 2 for group list options
– Press 1 to review your group list directory
4. ADDING AN ADDRESS TO A GROUP LIST

– Press 1 to add an address to the list followed by #

5. REVIEWING ADDRESSES IN A GROUP LIST

At this point the first address on the list will play.
You options are:
– Press 1 to play the next address
– Press 2 to delete the played address
– Press 3 to go to the top of your list

– Press # to save any changes

SENDING A GROUP MESSAGE
1. RECORDING AND SENDING A MESSAGE
– Log into your mailbox
– Press 2 to begin recording your message
– Press # to end your recording
At this point your options are:
– Press 1 to review your recorded message
– Press 2 to continue recording the message
– Press 5 to select future delivery
– Press 7 to delete the recorded message
– Press 9 to send the message
– Enter a destination address to which the message will be sent. This can be an individual telephone or mailbox number, a string of telephone or mailbox numbers, or a group list number or string of group list numbers.
CALL RETURN
Call Return allows you to return a missed call, even when you don’t know who called. In the event the caller did not leave a message or a phone number, you can identify the caller’s number and, if you wish, return the call. Please note-you will only be able to return the last incoming call you received.
To Activate Service:
• Press *69
• An announcement will tell you the phone number of the party who last called you.
• If you wish to return the call, press 1 and wait for answer.
• If you do not wish to return the call, hang up.
To Deactivate Service:
• Press *89 and listen for tone or announcement.
CALL WAITING
Call Waiting alerts you with a beep during a telephone conversation that another call is waiting to be answered. It prevents missed calls and provides many of the advantages of an additional line, but at a fraction of the cost.
To End a Current Call & Answer a Waiting Call:
• Hang up and allow the phone to ring.
To Hold a Current Call & Answer a Waiting Call:
• Depress the switchhook.
CALL WAITING DELUXE
This feature shows the name and number of the calling party on your Caller ID Deluxe display device while you are on the telephone. You can determine if you want to break your current conversation to answer your call waiting.
CANCEL CALL WAITING
This feature allows you to cancel Call Waiting before or during a phone call to prevent interruptions on long distance and important phone calls and to prevent data transmission interruptions when using computer modems.
To Cancel Call Waiting before a Call:
• Press *70, wait for 3 beeps and dial tone, the dial the desired number.
To Cancel Call Waiting during a Call:
• You must have the Three-Way calling feature.
• If so, depress the switchhook and wait for 3 beeps and a dial tone.
• You will automatically be reconnected to the existing call.
SPEED CALLING
Speed Calling allows you to call selected telephone numbers quickly by dialing an assigned code. It eliminates the need to look up or remember telephone numbers and saves time when dialing numbers, especially long distance numbers. It also allows for fast, accurate dialing of emergency numbers.
To Activate Service:
• Press 74# for 1-digit Speed Calling (codes 2-9)
• or Press 75# for 2-digit Speed Calling (codes 20-49)
• Enter desired phone number, press #, wait for three beeps and hang up.
• Press Speed Calling Code followed by # to place a call
To Change Calling entries:
• Repeat steps above.
DIRECT LINE
Direct Line allows you to call a predesignated number or emergency service simply by lifting the handset. It eliminates the need to remember emergency numbers and those calls are placed quickly and automatically. Enhances the safety and security for people who are alone (especially children, the elderly or the sick).
To Activate Service:
• The predesignated number will be dialed automatically within the first 15 seconds after lifting the handset.
• If you do not want to dial the predesignated number, you can dial any number before 15 seconds have elapsed.
Note: the predesignated number is selected by you when you order your Direct Line service. To change this number, you must contact ETC Customer Service.
REPEAT DIALING
Repeat Dialing allows you to do other things while your phone continuously calls back a busy number. While repeat dialing is activated yo may still make and receive calls. Repeat dialing will coninuously attempt to call back a busy number for 30 minutes.
To Activate Service:
• After receiving a busy signal, hang up, then lift the receiver and listen for a dial tone.
• Press *66
• An announcement or three beeps will alert you that the line is busy.
• You will hear a short-short-long ring when the line is free.
• Your call will automatically be made when you lift the handset>
To Deactivate Service:
• Press *86 and wait for announcement.
CONFERENCE BRIDGE
The Conference Bridge feature allows you to talk with more than one person during one telephone call. This is useful for home offices and for talking to friends or family members in different locations at the same time.
To Activate Service:
• ETC will assign the customer a PIN number. The PIN number is used to call in to a specific phone number at a reserved time. The customer provides this number to other people who wish to enter a conference call.
THREE-WAY CALLING
Three-Way Calling allows you to add a third party to an existing telephone conversation. It reduces the need for callbacks when trying to confirm plans and schedules. It also brings families and friends together.
To Activate Service:
• Ask the party to stay on the line.
• Depress the switchhook and wait for three beeps followed by a steady dial tone.
• Dial the third party’s number. When they respond, depress the switchook and your three-way call is established.
• If the third party’s number is busy or if there is no answer, depress the switchhook twice to reconnect to the first call.
To Deactivate Service:
After a 3-way call is established, you may depress the switchhook at any time to drop the third party.
